ART WEEK CDMX 2025
Stop for a moment. Breathe and observe.
Do you feel the space around you? Feel the air entering your body.
The oxygen surrounding you is the same that gives life to the nature present here. Gravity anchors you, yet space expands around you. Time moves forward, yet in this moment, everything seems to pause.
This installation by Guatemalan artist Alexander Zuleta invites you to explore the relationship between matter, gravity, and time. How does space influence you? How do you influence space?
Step closer, let your gaze wander, find your own rhythm. The art here is a bridge—between the visible and the invisible, between the human and the infinite.
Where does space end, and where do you begin?
You are part of this balance.

“Visible The Invisible”
As part of Zona MACO, Alexander Zuleta presents an installation that explores concepts of matter, gravity, and balance, reflecting on the relationship between space and time—an ongoing theme in his work.
In this installation, Zuleta transforms a display case with a series of geometric forms that visually expand and float, evoking the theory of metric expansion of space. The work subtly references a greenhouse, where nature becomes a central element, inviting viewers on an introspective journey to understand art as a connective force—linking us to our surroundings, history, culture, nature, and the universe.
Complementing this installation, Zuleta presents a large-scale oil painting inside Hotel Alexander, part of the Visible The Invisible series. The piece alludes to Charles Darwin’s unresolved mystery about plants: How did flowers evolve and spread to become Earth’s dominant plants hundreds of millions of years ago, when ferns and conifers ruled the planet?
Drawing inspiration from the movement of the universe, algorithms, and mathematical equations, Zuleta examines how nature responds to transformation and challenges—mirroring the human experience.
Exhibited both in the esplanade of Torre Virreyes and inside Hotel Alexander, the project creates a dialogue between contained space and expansive installation. This contrast shapes an artistic experience that transcends physical and conceptual boundaries, offering a comprehensive vision of Zuleta’s aesthetic exploration.
